'GO TO GAZA, DRINK THE SEA' - ASSEMBLY ROOMS, EDINBURGH 2009:
"Superbly written, performed and produced...this harrowing yet poignant piece of theatre deserves to be seen by the whole world not just Fringe audiences in Edinburgh. It touched me to the core. Could I give it 10 stars I would but sadly I can't. If you can only see one piece of theatre this fringe, make this the one." * * * * * One 4 Review

STICKMEN:
"Few things can match the warm, fuzzy glow of venturing upon one of the Fringe’s best kept secrets. It’s clear that this is a well-tuned work, in terms of the limitless comic potential of the cast and writers at the fore of this unusually novel invention. To reveal too much about the consequent rollercoaster of comedy genius would be a grave disservice to any prospective audience; as a show, its strength lies entirely in its unfettered ability to shock, surprise and entertain without resolve. Or respite. As the show veers with slapstick precision from hilarious 30-second character slots to longer visual gags, comical vignettes fragment, revealing both a revoltingly macabre and wonderfully daft agenda for proceedings. From the sublime chuckle to the rib-ticklingly ridiculous, the Sticks perform like wizards of their craft. The gold dust is evenly spread here. Remember their name: after all, from little acorns big oaks do grow."

"Could be the show that propels sketch comedy into the next millenium. The dark vision and visceral shocks will set Edinburgh talking"
- Time Out, '25 Shows to see in Edinburgh'
"Stickmen: Year One really is excellent. It's TISWAS, Chris Morris, Monty Python and the best special effects movie you have ever seen. It's slapstick, sharp, shocking and even a little bit sexy. It looks stunning, but this is no triumph of style over content. The script is as tight and as funny as the best ever episode of The Simpson's. Suffice to say that every so often a something comes along that changes everything - The Sticks have raised the standard, and nothing will ever be the same again.

'This is not just another sketch show. Well written, slickly performed and tightly directed; you'd better catch this now - you wouldn't want to miss out. No wonder it was tipped by Time Out as one of the 25 shows to see in Edinburgh this year.'
